Foothills Pool Now Open!

Vistancia Foothills Pool

Vistancia Foothills Pool

Although the sign says “Lap Swimming Only”, Vistancia HOA has officially decided to make this beautiful pool ‘shared’ for free swim and lap swim. I was up there last afternoon and it is quite peaceful up there.

APS POWERLINE ALERT!!

Mark Your Calendars, Vistancia Village Needs Your Support!

If you don’t want the power lines in Vistancia, now is the time to take a stand. We need as many residents as possible to attend the Line Siting Hearing on August 18th at 6:00 pm. We need to know ASAP (Thursday at Noon Preferred) if you will be able to attend so that we will have enough busses to transport everyone. Get out of work early if you can, bring your kids, bring your neighbors and join the fight to keep APS Power Lines OUTSIDE of Vistancia!

APS Continues to Pursue Powerline Route Adjacent to Vistancia.

Vistancia residents continue there fight to keep there views beautiful. APS is STILL considering there “preferred-route” which will run powerlines through the northernmost sections of Vistancia. City of Peoria, the developer and residents have strongly opposed this route and continue to do so, as documented here Azcentral.com article.

If you oppose APS’s proposed lines that will skirt Vistancia you can voice your opinion in ONE or ALL these methods. Whats important that your voice is heard!

Loop 303 Update

Looks like there gonna chop Happy Valley all the way through to the I-17. This will make getting to the I-17 and the I-10 much easier, but at what cost? For those of you that are familiar with the 91st avenue and HV intersection, you know its full of custom home lots and beautiful foothills. Hopefully the construction will not mar the beauty of that area.  [AZCentral.com]

HOA Meeting Thoughts

I sat quietly in the crowd on Thursday night, I wanted to get a feel for how my neighbors thought about living in Vistancia. Here are some of my thoughts.

The HOA and Sunbelt are well organized businesses that focus on making a profit, nothing wrong with that, thats what they are in business for, to make money. What I struggled with, was where the bridge really was between the developer and the homeowners? In my opinion Todd is not that person, he is a numbers guy that, I give kudos for giving a nice presentation (better than I could ever do).

Many homeowners share frustrations from the minor (ie barking dogs) to major (free RV parking in some neigborhoods). It seems that the biggest challenge that the homeowners are facing is bad communication from the HOA. Todd announced plans to try to communicate better with the homeowners, but I feel they for the most part did a poor job when they had many concerned homeowners right before them. From the canned answers on the handout to the ‘we wanna go home’ attitude, besides Monica Crook (5Stars!!) my first taste of this HOA is not good.
